freeing the stars

Once there was a very vain and greedy king. He had all the beautiful gems and flowers and metals anyonne could ever want, but he still was not happy. 'what is more beautiful than anything else?" he asked his advisors.
'The stars' said the one sitting next to him. So the king sent out his hunters and the caught all the stard, putting them in little jars anf buckets. the king kept them in his castle, away from the rest of the world. But now the nights were always sad, and the love in the air had dimed. People became deff and blid to other's pain, and forgot compassion. Nobody smiled any more, not even the king.
And the stars were still traped, fiden in the castle.'Help us!' they cried, but no one heard.
Then, one evening, a little girl heard a beautiful and sad song. "do you hear that?" she asked the other shildren. They all listened together, all notiving the sad little song. " "yes!" they replied. "it is our stars! They are calling for us."
That night the children snuck into the the castle and found the satar, all stuck in their little containers. On silent tip toes they caried the stars out of the castle and far away. When the new they were safe, they opened the tinny containers, and flung the beautiful lights into the dark sky. The children laughed as the stars caught on the night's velvet canvas, hanging in thier rightful place.
All around, people stood at their windows, gazing up at the pretty litlle lights winking down at them. And for the frst time in a long time, everyong smiled...even the now wise king.
